Obituary & Life History

 Robert Everett “Bob” Webster, 75, a former longtime resident of the Forest Grove community, late of Beaverton, died Saturday afternoon at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland.

Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove. Private Interment will follow at the Forest View Cemetery, 1611 West Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove.

ROBERT EVERETT WEBSTER was born September 2, 1945 in Vancouver, Washington, the son of the late Everett Samuel Webster and Mabel Janet (Brown) Webster. He was raised in Forest Grove. Bob spent one year at Tucker Maxon Oral School in Portland and then went to the Oregon State School for the Deaf in Salem until his graduation from high school. He then attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. where he received a bachelor of library science degree. He then worked as a librarian for Gallaudet for many years before returning to Oregon to become a librarian at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, where he worked for twenty-three years, until he retired at the age of sixty-two. Among his special interests, Bob enjoyed reading, photography and had a special love for his many cats.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mabel Webster.

Survivors include his sister Nancy Webster of Aloha, Oregon and his cat Katie. Bob had many friends including Darr Tindall, Georgeta Ivers, of Beaverton, Oregon and Meg Bishop, a fellow graduate of Gallaudet University.
